Nickel has better conductivity than tin or lead. All are several orders of
magnitude worse than gold or copper(best). But on a nickel/gold board, the
signal will be primarily running in the gold, due to the skin effect, and
gold has only slightly worse conductivity than copper. Soldermask will have
some effect as well but I'm not sure how significant at 10GHz.
You may be able to get some basic element properties at a site,
www.webelements.com It's an internet periodic table.

Subject: [TN] Electroless Nickel / Immersion Gold

Can anyone tell me if there are any probblems using Electroless
Nickel
(5micron) / Immersion Gold (0.1 micron) as a surface finish on High
Frequency boards (10GHz). Particularly,is nickel a poor conductor at High
Frequencies?
