Hi Tech Netters,
I want to evaluate solder iron tips used for handsoldering and rework.
Basically I want to measure the recovery time of the iron tips when
performing a soldering process. Does anyone know how I can do that? Are
there any common or known methods of doing this? Thanks.

*I would recommend talking to Dave Robertson at Hexacon Electric.  There is
nothing about soldering irons that he does not know.  I believe he led some
evaluations of recovery time for IPC committees.  Dave can be reached at
