If I understand your definition of isolation, I offer
you the following.

Isolation is something that can be corrected following
any varation of methods found in IPC-7721.  Often it
is possible to use a precision milling machine to
correct for isolation.  If you are losing valuable
products due to scrap you should refer to this
publication.  Two websites that may be able to further
assist you in answering your questions are
