Crimp yes, tin no! If you tin stranded wire and then clamp it under a screw terminal,
the solder will creep under the pressure, especially if there is any vibration, and the
connection will, in time work loose, creating all sorts of havoc, including fire
(witnessed in a high power circuit). If you must solder, use a sleeve, making sure the
tinning does not go on the part under the terminal.
