If I were you, I'd be looking at one of the diglycol ether based solvents, such as
Prozone or Zestron or similar, followed by a good DI wash and rinse. These solvents are
effective, very low toxicity and as environmentally friendly as any solvent can be.
This assumes you wish to continue with RMA. Personally, I think OA will offer you a
much cheaper solution, with easier soldering. But first, you must ask yourself WHY are
you cleaning? If the answer is as outdated as the RMA flux, then your best bet is
"no-clean". Yes, this has a narrower operating window, but it is $$$ better. The
overall cost of these three solutions for good, bench-top work could be typically in
the ratio of 2,0:1,2:1,0 and the end product reliability (depending on climatic
conditions) may be in the ratio of 1,2:1,5:1,0 (of course, these ratio figures are
approximations which will vary from app. to app.).

Above all, avoid all halogenated solvents, containing chlorine or bromine, like the
poisons they are and those containing fluorine for cost reasons and environmental
considerations.
