Hi Jean-Francois,

Here's some answers to you questions: Please contact me for further
information.

1) The percentage of boards that are inspected is usually based on some
Quality Plan or AQL. That's determined by company policy or vendor history
with the product. Someone should be documenting the AQL. Write me for
further details.
2) You would inspect a repaired board with the repair criteria or same
accept criteria as a new board. Stating the obvious... only inspect the
repaired area - no need to reinspect the whole board.
3) Standard checklists?? Most people in the industry use IPC-A-610B as an
acceptance guide or they develop custom criteria.

Subject: [TN] Inspection methods

Hi technetters,

I would need the help from the poeple that do board
inpections.

It would be very appreciated if you could answer a few
questions.

1) When You inspect a batch of new boards, what is the percentage of boards
that you inspect?
2) Do you inspect a board that comes back from repair the same way you
inspect a new board?
3) Do you have a standard check list to guide the inspections?
4) If so, is it possible to have an example of it?

We're planning to restructure our electronic inspection dep. and I'm the
lucky one who as to
do the work. But since I'm a little new in this, I need evey bit of help
that I can get. If
anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate.

Thank You!

JF
