Hello Everybody,

Glad to join this forum.

This is Matthew Ma, SQE from Flextronics SHENZHEN CHINA, I have one

question about IPC/J-STD-020C. Could you please tell me how to

comprehend "Package thickness" on page11 Table 4-1 & Table 4-2 ?

For example,we are identifing if the peak reflow temperature can meet

Pb-free process per IPC/J-STD-020C for a Aluminum Electrolytic

Capacitor. The case size of the capacitor is Diameter 5 mm & Length 5.4

mm,so the volume is about 106 mm3.Then we need to know the package

thickness to refer to Table 4-2 for the peak temperature.

So i am writing to ask help:

1. If the Package thickness is the barrel thickness of the case or not?

2. How to comprehend the package thickness for a MLCC 0402 capacitor?

3. Is it right to identify the peak temperature for Lead-free part as

above method?

Thanks for your kinkly help.

Best Regards

Matthew Ma
