Hello,
I always thought the holes were there so that a correct component count can
be achieved. Instead of counting sprocket holes you can confirm that each
pocket contains a part. You can even buy a counter for your stores to do
this. Shines a light through each component pocket and if the light does
not reach the other side then the pocket is full.
