Craig,
I recommend that, in addition to used equipment dealers (beware of brokers,
though) that you check out the original equipment manufacturers. Sometimes
they have trade-ins (upgrades), demo models, etc. and they generally will sell
the equipment with the latest upgrades and a warranty - and they'll support
it further down the line (for usually at least 10 years). And their field
service people can usually give you the history of the machine ("it was run by a
little old lady who only cleaned PCBs on Thursdays....")
Equipment shopping - new or used, is a lot like shopping for a car: it gets
real tired after a while and caveat emptor!
