No PCBs are used in PCBs :-) However, in FR-4 substrate, a small quantity of some
tetrabromobisphenol compound is mixed in with the bisphenol A in the prepolymerisation
stage, to render the stuff flame retardant. This tends to render the eco-freaks berserk
because they cannot see that there is an environmental advantage in preventing fires
from propagating, saving millions a year in fire damage, not to mention loss of life.
