Ah Doug - just because you don't have a broad, expansive reference
database does not mean that the boiling point of Cf is unknown. Just got
get a Diet Mt. Dew and things will become more clear.

Re: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Question With An Additional Clue
Yes, I think Dave is purposely messing with our minds. Californium melts
at 900C, but the boiling point is not known.
I can tell you that Hillman is in one of his evil modes today. Beware all
responses................

Re: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Question With An Additional Clue
Dave,
I'd guess Promethium (Pm, atomic no. 61). But, the boiling and melting
points don't agree with those listed in my CRC.

Subject: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Question With An
Additional Clue
Sent by: TechNet <[log in to unmask]>
Hi folks - It appears that everyone is really overloaded with work, having
too much fun with the holidays or I made the Friday Element Quiz too hard
last week so here is an additional clue:
The Question:
This element has a world inventory supply of nearly 1 gram. This element
is the heaviest element that has engineering use. This element melts at
900C and boils at 1470C.
Bonus question: This element has two crystal structures - name the crystal
structure that exists above 590C.
