As John and Mark said, there is no hard and fast rule for this number.
We call out for a much thicker web from our board shops because we
use an AftaScore machine to deepen the score just prior to separating
the sub-assemblies.

The Accuscore FAQ that John referenced you to on Acuscore's web
site seems to give out usable information.  Good luck!

Hi all my fellow technetters,

I need some help. I have been referencing a standard web thickness of .015
+/- .003 for a typical scored .062 thick array. Now, I ( for some reason )
thought this was called out in some IPC spec. However, when recently asked
where I got that requirement I could not find it...anywhere. I checked the
D-350, D-275, A-600, 6012, and even the RB-276 and could not locate this as
a referenced web thickness. So...l am rapidly concluding that I have fallen
into the preverbal " I Think it because thats the way I have always thought
it" syndrome. In other words, someone must have told me that was the IPC
spec years ago and it stuck! I obviously did not actually check it out
myself. Now, I have seen a lot of prints with that same requirements come
in from many different customers. So... somewhere out there this
requirement must be published in some form.

Anyone know where I can find score depth requirements as an industry
standard?
