     1 oz is typical, sometimes 1/2 oz for thinner boards.  For both SMT & 
     PTH.
     
     US designs are almost all English,  Japan prefers metric.  Don't know 
     about other countries.  Most board shops can handle data in either 
     format.
     
     Typical pad sizes for microvias are 25 mil for high density designs, 
     30 mils for normal.

IPC Folks,
    I'm taking a informal and non scientific survey for use in making 
decisions about repairs of electronic boards.  Your answers will be 
appreciated.
What weight copper is the most commonly used on PTH boards?  1 or 2 OZ. 
What weight copper is most often used on SMT boards?
Are boards built to metric or English measurements? 
What is the average size pad on pth boards?
