Hi, Dave:

A rectifier in this case is the DC power supply that provides the plating 
current.  The + output is connected to the anode bus bar, and the anode 
baskets or solid bar anodes are hung from the bus bar.  The - output is 
connected to the cathode bus bar, and the racks with the panels are 
connected to this bus bar.

I call it a power supply in my little world, and reserve the term rectifier 
for the diode devices used in making our power supplies.
