Or a <<<< FLOW DOWN >>>> could call ***a drawing*** in the
assembly drawing that listed all the specs.

example: On PWA drawing XYZ a note could say: Note 9: Refer
to drawing 1234

Drawing 1234 lists all the specs such as: J-STD-001

Internal specs,

IPC-A-610

IPC-2221
                                                                 etc.

Mike,

There are several generic notes needed to control the assembly, test,
inspection of a Printed Wiring Assembly. I will assume for the moment
you have an off-drawing parts list, but that is not too important to
most notes.
Here are some we use on nearly every drawing:

1. Reference designators per schematic diagram xxxxxxxx and may not
appear on parts 2. Test Assembly per xxxxxxxx (test document) 3. Process
and solder assembly per ANSI/J-STD-001 Class XX (or your internal
soldering process spec) 4. Workmanship Standards per IPC-A-610 Class XX
(or your ISO internal workmanship spec) 5. Mark assembly PN, revision
and Serial number in approximate location shown with .12 ref. high
characters per (marking spec) using (ink PN, spec) 6. Components
requiring specific lead forming are listed in the PWA design database
xxxxxxxx-nnn. Lead forming to be per individual component template
requirement.
7. Square pad, Radiused or chamfered component land indicates:
        A. Pin one of component
        B. Positive end of capacitor
        C. Emitter of transistor
        D. Cathode of diode

Is this what you are looking for?

Subject: [TN] Assembly Drawing Notes?

We are updating some PCBA assembly drawings, and looking for a little
guidance on notes to include on the drawings. Current standard notes
include:

- Solder alloy required

- Assembly processes to be in accordance with latest rev
ANSI/J-STD-001 Class XX

- Workmanship to be in accordance with latest rev IPC-A-610
Class
XX

Other than additional notes for idiosyncrasies specific to a given
assembly, are there any other 'boilerplate' notes we should incorporate?
