 I put out the request because I was fed up with paying $8 for a small spray
can of "gun degunker"

For anyone interested if you mix 1 part of SLX denatured alcohol with 3
parts of deodorized mineral spirits (both at home depot), you will get the
same result as a well known brand of gun cleaner - at less than one quarter
the cost.

MY choices at home depot are MEK, Toluene, Acetone.
