Tetra-etch is a brand name for a sodium napthalene process, this is classed as a hazardous process here in sunny England and we had trouble getting subbies to use it (they all refused). An excellent alternative was suggested by our supplier, namely Sodium Ammonia etch, this has been evaluated by us and compares very favourably with the previous Tetra-etch results.
We are using it to etch PCTFE prior to bonding a membrane to the component. Once etched the component needs to be shielded from UV as this degrades the etch over time.
If you require any more info drop me a line.
