Jason,

Welcome to one of the top three worst professions in the entire world. RIght behind the guy who smells
armpit deoderant to decide whether or not it really is working! ;->

But seriously, I can only recommend a couple of things. First if you have no experience in the area
subscribe to Printed Circuit Design and get your hands on as many back issues as you can.

Second, and this is not an ad for their seminars but I have attended the PCB design conference put on by
Miller Freeman since 1992 and have learned alot by designing coursework for the year around their seminars.

Last, and this may sound kind of funny, but, Freelance (i.e. the candle can not only be burnt at both ends,
but actually but into several pieces and burnt at each end of each piece). I started out designing single
sided (yes Virginia there are still single sided cost sensitive consumer products). I now do anything from
1 layer to 18 and my biggest request are layer reduction designs i.e. take a four layer to two, an 8 to a 4
etcetera.

I could quit my normal job, but since I have kids and need stability, I can't bring myself to do it. The
last thing I can leave you with after doing this for 11 1/2 years is this. Never trust a SPICE model, and
never ever think an autoplacement and autorouter is a good substitution for a well rounded designer. I
can't tell you how much money I have made off people who thought that way! <BEGROTFLATWTTB>

(that meant Big Evil Grin Rolling On The Floor Laughing All The Way To The Bank) and it sounds just the way
it is spelled!
