1)  Have you tried 100 cycles with other boards, non-polyimide, to check if
the plating cracks?
2)  GI should not move as much as GF material so there isn't as much
stress on the plating
3)  If GI prepreg is not cured, all bets are off and it could be moving more
4)  What does etchback or desmear look like when comparing prepreg and core
If the GI prepreg is not cured, you might get more attack than on the cured
core material.
