Brian brings up an important point that I believe deserves more than a bit of
reinforcement and support.
Technology marches on while standards frequently stand at parade rest for
extended periods of time. The reference point offered by the standard may still
be valid, because many of them have timelessness about them, but a simple
sanity check based on current design and manufacturing practices, such as Brian
suggests, seems an excellent, common sense practice to hold to.
