The maual should have the verification procedure in it. I have model 716 and verify everu 6 months. You will need a calbrated multimeter and a resistance substitution box. I'm looking at a vendors catalog, looks like the 740 has different ranges and limits than mine so my procedure won't work but I'm sure it would be similar.

Good afternoon everyone,

 

I am using a 3M 740 Wrist/Foot strap tester.  Normally in the past I have sent this out for calibration / verification.  What I am wondering is if any of you folks are doing this calibration / verification in house.  If so, what standard(s) and equipment are you using to check this?  Since this tester is being used daily I really can't afford to have it out of the plant for too long (I don't have an extra one or a loaner to bridge the gap while it's gone).  Please contact me offline if you have some input on this.
