Hi,

The magic number is 2.3. It take 2.3 tank volumes to dilute to 10% of the
original concentration. For example: If you dragged in enough solution
into a 100 gallon tank to get a concentration of 100 ppm, you would have to
add 230 gallons of clean water to dilute to 10 ppm. This is why we use
counterflow (cascade) and spray rinses.

You may wish to review our web page at www.remco.com/an2.htm. This has a
graph and formula for calculating this. I also have a spreadsheet where you
can change the variables and calculate for a single and double/triple
counterflow rinses.
Specify quatro pro or excel,

You may also want to review www.remco.com/an1.htm and www.remco.com/an4.htm
which discuss other aspects of rinsing and rinsewater control.
