Scott,

With a wedge bonder, you will have two options -

Place one bond next to the other [leaving room between the bonds for the
bonding tool]. You really can not literally stack the bonds with the
wedge bonder. Unfortunately, you are not likely to have room enough on
your pad to accomplish this.

Or use what is called a multiple stitch bonds [or just 'stitch' bond].
Make your first bond then go to the second bond site and bond without
'wedging off' and continue the bond to the next site without breaking
the wire between the first and third bonds.

Most every heavy wire wedge bonder can do this, but there will be some
layout constraints. Your 'pad' may need to be in-line with the two
other bond sites.

Steve

Subject: [TN] Overlapping Wire Bonds

Curious here. Can you lay bonds on top of each other. I want to create
1 bond. Then from that same point, start another bond. I need to
connect 2 places from 1 pad (the pad is only 2x the size of the wire).
In this case its .012" AL wire.

Thanks.
