Hi TechNetters,
A supplier of ours wants to insert passive components (leaded
resistors) directly into a wiring harness. Our normal governing
specification is a NASA spec which has several paragraphs which can be
interpreted to prohibit this. Good sense also tells me it's not very good
for high reliability hardware but neither can be brought to bear in this
case. I can't find anything in IPC-A-610 that I can use. Can anyone quote
a relevant section of any other IPC or Mil spec that speaks to this issue?
        TIA,
        Howard Feldmesser
