Nodules vs Ripple vs Current Lag

I guess I'll add some questions for Mr. Gaylor and the group because
intermittently I have seen the same effect.

1) What are the relationships between filtering, stray anode nuggets on
the bottom, and total organic carbon (algae in brightener?) on
nodules?

2) Do nodules have different structures (crystalline, amorphous, or
inclusion effect)? and, if so, How do these relate to origin?

3) What is the "quick and dirty" way to eradicate the buggers?

I apologize for not having an answer Mr. Gaylor; perhaps the group can
point out more useful information than a string of questions.
