We ran a trial batch of boards using this finish instead of our standard
Au/Ni finish employed for mixed and SMT PCBs. Omikron finish would have
been around 8% cheaper from our supplier had we swapped over.

Results were very good through both SMT and wave solder process, however
some solderability problems with subsequent hand soldering operations
(we require a few select-on-test resistors to be fitted to each board.)
Also minor disadvantage that the inspection benefit from colour contrast
between pasted land and unpasted land of Au/Ni finish is lost. Better
than HASL for SMT assembly though.
