Doug, Sorry, read from the wrong line, it is a polyurethane coating. The propylene is one component of this coating.

Believe it or not, you're not too far off base. We do spot sand blasting with walnut shells.
But whatever the method, it must be abrasive!
Just curious though, how are you touching up the coating on the location being reworked?
We use urethane coating for touch up locations.

[TN] Parylene Coating Removal
What is the best way to remove parylene coating? Right now the operators
are scraping the coating off the joint enough to allow access with a solder
iron. We would like to find a better way.
