Great responses so far on profiling hard drives.

You suggested a variety of adhesives, and epoxies, some two-part, some
requiring cures, some thermally conductive. You've mentioned an IR camera,
going to a lighter gauge thermocouple wire, and gathering flow rate
information. From all that, to solve my most pressing needs, I've purchased
Omega's self-adhesive pads (trimmable to component size), with a wire gauge
1/2 of that I'm using now. I'll share the results, and hopefully get the
V.P. of Engineering to stop breathing dragon fire down my back.

In the meantime, anyone know of an heat-oven type enclosure (minimum 18" by
18") that can maintain 25-40 deg. C, in a more manageable size than a bake
room? All areas we presently thermal cycle are subjected to air
ventilation.
