A recently finished study by CALCE (U. of Maryland) on components stored in
some warehouse for 10 to 12 years showed no failures on the the plastic
(non-hermetic) components (14-pin DIPs), but some failures on the ceramic
(hermetic) components. I understand that they will publish this soon.
