I have reviewed many assembled boards and found various types of shorts without having to depop the board.  Are you very experienced inspecting bare boards? Do you have suspect areas?  If you do you can confirm the short in several methods. Xray, alcohol and back light inspection, short finder thermal paper, etc.  If you still want to depop the board flux it and solder float it.  Then when still molten it against a desk and the majority of the solder will fall off.  To depop the board would be the last resort IMHO.
