Peggi/Ron,
        No question, the tips aren't cheap. But if they are properly
handled (no pliers) and maintained (tinned/cleaned), you can get good
long life out of them. It's mainly a retraining issue with the
operators. Plus the quick change/fast heat capabilities make it much
easier for the operators to use the tip best suited for the job, rather
than whatever happens to be in the handpiece at the time. I'm not trying
to be a mouthpiece for Metcal, but I really feel that there is no other
system on the market that comes close....
