The main task is to satisfy your customer.  You must show him that product
produced with wave soldered joints meet all of the requirements they imposed
on your hand soldered joints.  The final condition of the surface would also
have
to  meet any previously imposed conditions.

If the original product had to go through a "shake, rattle and roll" and temp
cycling - then that is what you should do to the new version.

If the original product had to have some sort of ionic cleanliness or Surface
Insulation Resistance testing, then the new version would also.

If there were no original requirements, then there are a few variations on
testing, you could consider
