Good morning,

In my view, you have two choices with your problem of low solids flux
residues interfering with in-circuit test: change the flux or change the ICT
pins. Changing the pins will be far less of a problem than changing your
flux. If you contact the manufacturer of your pins, you will probably find
that there are a number of different probe tips and spring pressures. I know
that IDI Interconnects (913-342-5544) has a line they call "Flux Busters"
with heavier springs and a probe head that twists as it makes contact. This
should help get you through any residual low solids flux residue. We have
worked with several customers who had problems with ICT and low solids
fluxes; the pin change worked in every case.
