I have some experience with the machines at previous employers.

Is it a pass through or standalone machine?

I hope you are heating the material in a recirculating loop if you use the
select coat nozzle (the best edge definition). Thier other nozzles work
fine with that viscosity.

Is your material 100% reactive or solvent based? I am not familiar with
Conap materials.

At a previous employer, we ran multiple products through thier machines,
first an acrylic, then I switched them to a moisture cure silicone. They
ran great, but new programmers had a learning curve. Maintenance was fairly
easy, as long as the programmer didn't program it to spray the conveyor.

Good luck,

Fellow Techneter's,

You all have been such a tremendous source of insightful
information
that I will ask for another favor with a process that I have inherited. We
received the above mentioned coating machine (Model SCWC4) from one of our
sister divisions a few months back. As luck would have it, the machine was
set-up to run a two part coating, and therefore some of the lines and such
were altered in order to get it to run this material. Fortunately Nordson
was able to provide me with the latest version of the software for this
machine (Version 3.70). We plan to run Conap CE-1170, which is a 1
component
acrylic, viscosity of 400 cps at 25C, and dielectric strength of 3000 vpm.
Is there anyone out there that can provide some insight into the correct
set-up and operation, glitches in software, or pitfalls that I may look out
for, in the operation of this machine? Any other information that is
related to this machine would be very helpful as it was thrown on my lap
like a hot potato.

Thanks,

John Arroyave
