Hi Ernie,
    I've had some success by using 2 mil film and dropping the exposure slightly.  By dropping
the exposure, you will gain more elasticity in the resist (Stay in spec on the stouffer
though!!!).  Other things would include: insure adequate overlap of the hole/slot edge (maybe
.010" or greater on a side).  Check the handling at the develop, plate, strip, and etch.  Follow
some lots through and locate the failure point.  Check your nozzle angles and pressures. check
the quality of the slot/holes (burrs, ragged edges, etch.)
