Hi Richard: We use an X/Y/Z programmable system from GPD. It has dual
head dispense capability i.e. one for solderpaste and one for epoxy
adhesive.
It can accommodate a 24" Y axis dispense length which would work on your
step and repeat approach. It use a pass thru conveyor however I don't
know if it can be stepped or indexed.

We run these at a fairly high volume, 2000 PCA's per line per day.

Subject: [TN] Epoxy and Solder paste dispensers

Hi folks,
I need some help. I have a project that involves dispensing both epoxy
and solder paste to a 6 foot long pwb. The pwb is only 2" wide. It will
be mounted on a carrying fixture. I am looking for dispensers with a
pass-through conveyor system that can accomodate this long pwb, even if
I have to dispense to a section at a time and then increment the pwb
forward.
Because the circuit board has a repeating pattern throughout its entire
length, I am thinking that I can create the dispense program and then
simply step and repeat it for sections (say 2 feet at a time) of the 6
foot circuit board, but I want the system to move the circuit board
through the dispenser automatically. The contract is for very high
volumes.
Therefore I am looking for a dispenser, but I am having a lot of
difficulty talking to Asymtek, Camelot, etc. and trying to figure out
which models can do something like this. The sales reps do seem to be
technically challenged.
I do not have a lot of experience with epoxy dispensers, so I am looking
for someone who does who can point me in the right direction to find a
model that can do something like this. I know that some dispensers can
handle reel-to-reel flex, for example, and I would appreciate hearing
from those who use these machines on a daily basis.
Thanks in advance.
