Jan, what kind of oil is being used? Yes organic contaminants affect
soldering. The type of flux being used in wave solder is also a factor.
Depending upon the oil used in cutting machine, you may wash the
components (if they are wettable) in alcohol+water and air dry prior to
insertion. Make a run on wave machine with and without cleaned component
to see the affect on soldering. Aggressive flux may not require extra
cleaning. I will be interested to know your results. Good Luck.
