Maybe a tiny bit more info is in order. This is an S.O. DIMM, and the
socket is one of these 22.5deg. angle sockets. We had no problems with the
sockets that held the DIMM parallel to the PCB, but this angled one doesn't
seem to hold on as tight at the little catches on the sides. The reason for
going to the angled is for more board real estate, so we can't switch back.

The DIMM seems tight in the socket and still works in the popped up
position, but we don't know how long it might, and if fan vibration, etc,
may eventually work it loose in the field, without two levels of hold.

To Dan Johnson: I took a closer look at the DIMM to check out your loctite
idea, and I'm not sure what you mean by a locator pin, unless that doesn't
apply to SO-DIMM's. Please explain further, thanks.

May want to look at the DIMM card itself. We use DIMM's all over the place
and have never had a problem with them popping loose.
Our customer service manager is very prompt to tell us if something goes
arye.
Our PWB are installed into deliverable end product with DIMM's in place.
The PBW are, in most cases installed vertical.

Our PWB with DIMM's installed are 6 3/4" x 6 3/4", 8" X 8" and
4" X 12". We ship between 200 and 350 completed end item units per month
(depending on sales and marketing).
