Dear TechNetters,

Martin Barton, conference director for SMI, has approached me about putting
together an SIR workshop for SMI 97. I had not considered such a workshop in
the past, but it is an intriguing notion. Would you, the technical community
find benefit in such a workshop? What kinds of questions do you think such a
workshop should address? I ask this not only for myself, but also as
chairman of the IPC SIR Task Group. If you have questions regarding SIR that
IPC-9201 (The SIR Handbook) does not address, then we need to update the
manual.

(See, that cleverly worded ending gets me around my previous holier than thou
response regarding sales and marketing over TechNet).

I would appreciate any inputs, especially in regards to the uncharted
wilderness that is J-STD-001B, Appendix D.
