Whoa!
Supplier fairy tale time.
We have several volume MOV parts where we've created a
"snap in" preform to eliminate the "epoxy dip in PTH" syndrome.
The vendor in question even developed special tools to
create this preform, at no charge. Works great, and we
eliminated having to thread a standoff insulator.
The preform has a crimp above and below the board surface
to stand it off,and hold the part in place.
Harris has preforms still in their catalog which may work for
your application. I cant remember who Harris MOV stuff was spun
off to...was it Littelfuse?
Hope this helps
John
