Instead of using a filling is there a fiducial pattern that you could cut
that wouldn't require filling for contrast?  Sorta like using an aperature as
a fiducial - but without the paste residue distorting the shape.  Don't know
if you could "cross-hatch" or laser etch a pattern for contrast...
