This thread going around has, by far, gotten the most attention I've seen
in a few months. I think this forum has indeed lost it's "flair". I have
always kind of liked the off-color jabs, prods, jokes...as long as they
didn't interfere with the basis of the topic. Just as I would hate to work
at a place where the engineers, supervisors, managers moved in robotically
to discuss a technical issue and reprimanded anyone who dared to discuss
matters not officially directly related to the matter at hand, I do not
want to be part of a forum with no tolerance to the occasional joker. I
honestly believe that not only has the forum lost members due to the
horribly lagging economy, but also to the fact that one may receive 2
responses detailing a critical technical issue, but 50 responses to
someone's lame joking. It's too "dry" here nowadays. I think I'll
unsubscribe.
