Guenter,
You stated that eutectic solder creeps so quickly above 0C that it does
not reach any yield strength.  I have come across some yield strength
values for 63Sn/37Pb solder but from what you are saying, I assume the
strain rate to actually fracture the solder (in a ductile manner) must
be quite high.  Any idea of where I could find numbers for such strain
rates.
