Another real interesting way of looking at a rectifier is to regard it as an
ELECTRON PUMP!   The rectifier pumps electrons from the anode side, where
they are "donated", actually "ripped off" is a better term, the Copper in the
anode bags, which causes the Copper to become water soluble.   The electrons
are then pumped over to the Cathode, or "work" side, and given back, or
slammed on to the Copper ions which have drifted over from the anodes.

The "power" that "rips off" and slams back these electrons is the voltage,
and if you do not have enough, you do not plate, if you have to much, things
get out of control, and messy.

I have given seminars to the "tank jockey" set, and needed to find simple
explanations, this was the one I settled on.
