Hi, this e-mail is addressed to those who handle the SMT assembly of QFP
components in various leads pitch.
Is it acceptable in the industry to rework by hand any damaged leads (due
to manutention or from supplier)? Is it the same answer for round or
flattened leads? Is there an impact on the reliability of the reworked
components? Do the suppliers have any rules for that?
We have already experimented some failures a t=0 with particular component
because the leads were very thin but in the field for those that aren't too
thin, is it critical?
If there is any rules or any experience related to these questions, please
let me know your point or any recommendation.
