Hi Greg,

Water softening simply substitutes the "hard"stuff in tapwater (calcium
carbonate, calcium chloride, etc) for sodium chloride, AKA salt (ionic
material). It's not a direct 1 to 1 exchange either, so essentially, the
soft water "quality" compared to tap water , from the D.I. exchange bed
perspective, is lower. I guess the answer to your question (which, BTW, was
truncated by the technet digest process for some reason) is NO.

Regards,

For those who don't love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God can't turn their hearts, may He turn their ankles, so we'll know
them by their limping.
