Inge,

The molding compound was manufactured by a major Japanese company.
It was shipped world wide to anyone who wanted to buy it.


Didn't seem to be a major problem to most users.
It was a serious problem for a number of computer manufacturers. The military got rather excited also!
They don't want to talk about it.

Nikkei, CALCE and others warned for red P particles in IC plastic packages. Could cause migration between terminals and electrical failures.This was last year. Didn't seem to be a major problem to most users. Anyone who knows if such P 'doped' molds were used by tantalum cap makers too?
