My latest post about Solder paste, has just raised an issue that I've thought
about over the years...this may upset some people.

Why do us as users, need to go through all these qualification tests in order
to select a solder paste? All of us use the paste in the same way, no? Aren't
the vendors of these products AWARE of the requirements that need to be met?
Why don't they "tailor" their products to their users? Do these vendors
understand the expense and time that it takes to do all these qualification
tests? Why should we even have to do this? Don't solder paste vendors
understand their market?

Even the IpC has put into place procedures to qualify solder paste. I would
think, that if I were a solder paste vendor, and to secure business, I would
make sure, that whatever product I sold, would comply to all industry
standards, and advertise it as such, and then back it up...you would win
market share with that simple effort.

But to tell you the truth, I have recieved quite few emails that have found
that what was claimed, is not the truth...you have only yourself to blame for
that. So I will go on to do my own tests, and not even consider your sales
people and their pitches, because they lie to all of us, and cannot be
trusted...and that's a damn shame...
