Hello all,

I am being tasked with generating a parts list numbering system to include
electronic parts, assemblies, hardware and the like. I would like to think
of all the different types of parts there are to be sure I include them on
the system, however I have to admit that I am not as young as I once was so
I may forget one or two! (See, I can't even count too high these days!)

I hereby solicit all ideas for setting up such a system and any thoughts
that I should keep in mind when attempting to include the world.
