Jim,
If you are doing 0.6mm pitch or smaller, it is very hard to insure
the operators have cleaned the apertures effectively so you do not
have a paste build-up in the apertures over time and get a clog.
We have a combination that is working very effectively for us. We are
using an EMC Global Technologies aqueous stencil cleaner, with Zestron
Vigon SC-202 cleaning chemical. The EMC machine is robust, easy to
maintain, start the cycle and walk away.
The Zestron chemical works well with adhesives, solder paste, and has
a "flux removal" capability for washing paste from boards or
assemblies. The biggest plus, is it does NOT lose it's charge, so does
not have to be dumped. Just filtered to remove the undesireables.
Also, no rinse cycle required, we do not have our machine hooked to
drain (eliminates the concern of lead going down the drain, ya know).
If anyone would like more info, or contact #'s, let me know.

Hi everyone,
How does everyone clean their stencils? We are a low to medium volume
assembler that doesn't carry that many stencils on hand now, but we are
slowly building up stock. We now use stencils wipes to clean them, but I'm
wondering if I should start thinking about other methods to clean them.
Thanks for your help!!
